About the Presenter:

Dr. Dhanviney (Vinay) Verma is an Instructor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a community psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). He has previously served as Director of the Rapid Access Psychiatry Clinic at MGH and as the inaugural Medical Director at Vinfen Community Behavioral Health Center through MGH's Visiting Program.

In these roles, Dr. Verma was instrumental in implementing the state behavioral health roadmap with emphasis on mentorship, program development, and expanding access to high-quality care for complex and underserved populations.

Dr. Verma has served on key committees at MGH and Vinfen, including EPIC Optimization, Cultural Psychiatry, Clinical Policies, CBHC Executive Advisory, and Quality and Patient Safety. His work with immigrant and refugee populations at the Boston Center for Refugee Health and Human Rights earned him the Early Career Psychiatrist Fellowship from the World Psychiatric Association. His clinical practice at MGH spans several outpatient settings, including primary care psychiatry at the main hospital and affiliated healthcare centers.

Dr. Verma's broader impact includes his involvement in a consult-liaison service through the MGH Visiting Program, which improves culturally sensitive access for underserved populations in the northwest arctic region of Alaska. Dr. Verma also maintains a private practice and provides administrative consulting in the Greater Boston area, with a focus on workflow optimization, leadership strategies, and trauma-informed practices. As an educator, he supervises residents and nurse practitioner (NP) students and provides didactics on various clinical topics and quality improvement.
